The solar tubes convert the suns radiation into heat within the panel. Water is pumped round a pressurised loop from your hot water cylinder , through the heat exchanger in the panel and back to the cylinder. Here it passes through a highly efficient coil to heat your hot water.
This technology has been around for a decade now. It works on simple physics, and with no moving parts, it is therefore very low maintenance but highly reliable and efficient.

In southern England we receive 60% of the suns energy compared to the equator. The home counties receive 1500 hours a year increasing to 2000 hours a year as you near the coast. Bognor holds the record with over 2200 in 1990. Every hour could save you money, all year round.

The table above shows average radiation levels and what the panels can produce in Kw hours. November to February they can assist in warming your water. March and October can provide a majority of the heat needed. April to September can provide all of your hot water needed on sunny days and even on overcast days provide a large amount of useable energy.

We only fit evacuated solar tubes, they provide the best performance for year round use in our climate. They start to work in 10/15 minutes when enough energy hits them.
